Cytonics APIC-PRP is the new alternative to steroid injections.

In addition to spinal surgery, Dr. Cuéllar specializes in anti-inflammatory injections for a variety of spine and orthopaedic conditions. He was involved in early research used by Cytonics Corpto develop novel treatments for arthritis-related pain, using the next-generation of PRP, called APIC-PRP*. APIC-PRP* provides a potent anti-inflammatory fluid that can be injected into any painful joint, such as the knee, hip, shoulder, ankle, elbow etc. This is a process whereby we draw some of your own blood and concentrate a powerful anti-inflammatory protein (A2M), along with other potentially helpful molecules. This solution is then injected into the painful site. Numerous scientific research studies have demonstrated it may reduce pain by blocking inflammation, and may even slow down cartilage degradation in large joints such as the knee.

Recent research published by Drs. Cuéllar, Montesano and Scuderi shows that injection of the APIC, which is rich in the super molecule A2M, may be beneficial for the treatment of back pain from lumbar disc degeneration. Click here for full article.

*Cytonics APIC-PRP is FDA-approved for the addition to bone graft in order to enhance its mechanical properties. Therefore, the use of APIC-PRP for the injection into any part of the body is technically "off-label". Any PRP used in this manner is similarly "off-label" with the FDA.
